Position Description

The Production Worker works as part of the Production Team which primarily involves supporting the manufacture of oil and water-based products in the liquid production areas. These tasks are to be completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Key Accountabilities:

Operate counterbalance fork lift truck to pick, stage and store raw and finished materials

Enter information for raw materials and finished goods using the WMS and SAP transactions

Load and unload tank trucks and rail cars in a safe, organized and timely manner

Operate production equipment to package liquid product batches

Conduct quality inspections and complete quality inspection reports in an organized manner

Gather samples before and after transferring goods and raw materials

 

Hours of Operation:  Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week (rotating shift work)

 

Basic Qualifications:

Completion of a High school Diploma or equivalent

Experience in an industrial setting 

Forklift experience (counterbalance)

Basic computer skills / proficiency

Strong ability to calculate basic mathematical calculations

Superior organization and communication skills

Self-motivated and a strong team player

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Production experience in chemical environment

Completion of a 3 year Technical program as a Chemical Technician

Completion of a Chemical Operator Certificate

Certified on WHMIS and TDG

Forklift Certification

Proficiency with Microsoft office and SAP

 

Working Conditions:

Comfortable completing a pre-placement medical

Able to lift 50 pounds

Able to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a respirator when needed

Able to complete some outdoor activities which may involve working in extreme cold weather conditions during the winter
