Permanent Part-Time day shift (7-3) and Permanent Part-Time night shift (11-7) is available. Lots of opportunities to pick up additional shifts as desired. *New Graduates are Welcome!!* Temporary CNO licenses for new graduates pending NCLEX examination can be discussed. We are a 101 bed LTC facility. This is a TEAM ORIENTED, SUPPORTIVE facility with a positive, dynamic work culture. We are a BEST PRACTICE SPOTLIGHT ORGANIZATION predesignate working with the RNAO and received an EXEMPLARY 4 year Accreditation status from Accreditation Canada! We have a supportive team of Nursing Managers readily available to provide assistance/support as necessary including on weekends. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the RN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice in keeping with the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and Long Term Care Act. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure resident care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies. Observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents. Assess need for Physician or other HCP referrals; Process and implement physicians’ orders. Assist in the development, implementation, review and evaluation of resident care plans. Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff. Orient and train new personnel. Communications with residents/families and the interdisciplinary team. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices. Ability to work effectively individually and with others. Strong leadership skills.
